 Observed annually on the last Monday in May, Memorial Day is set aside to honor the men and women who have died in service to our country. While Memorial Day didn’t become an official national holiday until 1971, its origins begin with the Civil War.

    yesterday is International Nurses Day 2020, a day to celebrate nurses all across the world which this year has even greater significance falling as it does during the coronavirus pandemic.  The day was chosen because it was the birthday of Florence Nightingale, who is regarded as the founder of modern nursing – and today marks 200 years since her birth.
